The Last Kingdom has been the subject of the talks lately. Ever since the announcement of the renewal, individuals have their eyes on this historic show. There is a massive fanbase of the series waiting for season 5. It annoys the fans that the show is underrated, and they highly recommend it. Release Date

The first season of The Last Kingdom premiered on BBC in 2015. By now, four seasons are released. The fourth season was released in 2018. Later on 7 July 2020, the series was renewed for a fifth series by Netflix.

However, there’s absolutely no official announcement regarding the discharge date. Moreover, there is no update on if the filming has started. It is not known however when the filming will begin any soon during the pandemic. Nonetheless, it has been noted that the shooting is set to take place in Budapest.

Plot

The storyline of The Last Kingdom Season 5 will be likely to be predicated upon the 9th and 10th set of the novel’The Saxon Stories’. It’s expected that Uhtred will discover how his destiny is extremely entangled with the future of England.

Niguel Merchant, the executive producer at Carnival Films, said that they’re incredibly pleased with the show. He stated, “We had such a tremendous response to the last season, so we are delighted to be bringing it back for season five to Netflix. With such a loyal fanbase, we’re excited to allow viewers to follow Uhtred about another phase of his pursuit.”
