As Logan Roy might say, it is about fucking time. It appears Succession is finally gearing up to begin filming again after an extended hiatus due to COVID-19. The highly-anticipated third season of the HBO series follows the successful first and second seasons concerning the dysfunctional Roy household’s Machiavellian power moves and brotherly (and sisterly) backstabbing because they vie for their father’s beloved enterprise. From release date to storyline, here is what we know thus far about season 3 of the critically-acclaimed HBO series Succession.

Where did season 2 of Succession leave off?

Succession season 2 finished with Kendall Roy throwing a bombshell on his dad’s dynasty. The Number One Boy opted to betray media tycoon Logan Roy, who set his son up to take the fall for Waystar Royco’s wrongdoings, throwing a significant wrench into the patriarch’s strategies heirs.

What’s going to happen in season 3?

You’d need to ask Brian Cox. In an interview with The Jess Cagle Show, the Eactor revealed that he’s the only cast member to be aware of what the new season holds.

“I almost fell off my seat because [series founder Jesse Armstrong] never informs you about the next show. We never knew from episode to episode what was likely to take place,” Cox said per The Hollywood Reporter. “It is jolly thrilling. That is all I will say.”

Cox added that due to pandemic security protocols, the new season would likely use more sets rather than shooting on NYC’s streets.

“Our issue with the series is it’s a verity show because we shoot on the movement and chronologically. But we now have to change in a way to become more controlled,” he added.

Succession Season 3 official Information

There has been no official confirmation, but it is reasonable to presume that each of the essential players will be back, including Brian Cox as dastardly patriarch Logan Roy; Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy; Sarah Snook and Matthew Macfadyen as distressed newlyweds Shiv Roy and Tom Wambsgans; Kiernan Culkin as Roman Roy; and Braun as fan-favorite Cousin Greg.
