After Fable 3 was released in 2010, the franchise was treated to almost a half-dozen trite spin-offs such as Fable: The Journey, Fable Coin Golf, and quite a few more. Following months of speculation and leaks, Microsoft debuted a cinematic teaser during the July 23 Games Showcase that confirmed a fresh Fable game was in development for Xbox Series X — and we could too call it Fable 4 before a real name is supported.

WHEN IS THE FABLE 4 RELEASE DATE?

There currently is not a release date or window for the newest Fable. The minute-long show teaser does not provide much in the way of concrete advice, but it will be safe to assume the latest Fable game is in early development.

We all do know that this new Fable will be available only on Xbox collection X and Windows 10. Most Xbox games in the future are being released cross-gen for both Xbox One and Xbox Series X, so that means Fable likely will not be published for quite some time. Now, a late 2021 launch date seems wildly optimistic but maybe possible.

IS THERE A TRAILER FOR FABLE 4?

Yes! An “official declare trailer” surfaced when Fable 4 was announced during the Xbox Games showcase on July 23. You can watch it below.

From the trailer, a fairy strikes through Fable’s lush woods, showcasing the brightly detailed graphics. The fairy is eaten by a frog, which is a great example of Fable’s classic chic humor. Afterward, we are shown an undercover kingdom. The fundamental building appears somewhat like Fable 2’s Fairfax Castle, but it is not said where this realm is situated or if we are even in Albion.

According to Fable’s inventive director, British celebrity, Simon Callow supplied the narrator’s voice in the trailer. Callow is known for his role as Gareth from the first Four Weddings and a Funeral. It is currently unknown if Callow will portray a character at the full match or if his participation is a one-off for the trailer. “Not all stories have happy endings,” he states.

WILL FABLE 4 BE ON XBOX GAME PASS?

Yes! According to the description of the Fable trailer, the new game will be on Game Pass when it starts, meaning that Xbox collection X owners who also subscribe to the service will be able to play with the newest Fable for free.

WHO’S DEVELOPING FABLE 4?

Fable has been developed by Playground Games. It’s currently unknown how many (if any) programmers from the first Fable games are coming for the sequel.

Playground Games are mainly known for their generation of the Forza Horizon collection. This will be their first RPG and their first game without a vehicle unless this game somehow has cars?
