Forget Fable 4, the next installment in the iconic fantasy show is going to be a reboot branded simply Fable. With the original development studio, Lionhead shuttered in 2016, the responsibility for bringing back one of Xbox’s most treasured titles falls on the shoulders of Playground Games, the people behind Forza Horizon.

“To put the Fable franchise – and – give it a fresh start – in the hands of one of the greatest game programmers in the world, and right there in England with Playground Games, is sort of a fantasy come true,” said Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft.

“We are letting them get a fresh start with the franchise and you can see it is still got the classic British comedy that is true to the franchise, it’s going to be a roleplaying game, we’ve got the best people in the industry working on it. Today was the show of the game, and we’re excited to officially say Fable’s coming, and we’ll discuss more when we’re prepared.”

The match will be released on Xbox collection X, PC also will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

We have our first look through the Xbox Games Showcase, also in addition to fairies, magical swords, and hungry toads, Playground Games’ skills in building magnificent worlds – even ones without supercars ripping through them – were on full screen.

The final shot rebooting Fable was the ill-fated Fable Legends, which attempted to shoot the single-player RPG and turn it into a four-player co-operative match that depended heavily on microtransactions. The original plan also contained the chance to use Microsoft’s SmartGlass attribute to allow you to plan strikes and a roster of rotating heroes. Fundamentally, it had been Fable in title and artwork style just, and the Fable faithful reacted accordingly. The game made it into open beta, before being canceled in March 2016.

New Fable does not have any release date yet, but to get a true Fable experience, we will happily wait just somewhat longer.
