Donald Trump said he may declare martial law if situations haven’t changed.
But, why does he want to implement Martial Law?
We all aware of what’s happening right now. George Floyd and many black people were brutally killed in America recently. And the video of George Floyd’s death broken every one. People started protesting for black lives. They are running campaigns, walking on roads and fighting for justice.
While COVID-19 Pandemic had already created a huge loss, in addition to that now these protests are going on with a number of gatherings. They were uncontrollable yet fair.
We couldn’t assume what loss and change they will bring. But people are very serious about it.
Though the government said, they are gonna punish the accused, we couldn’t stop fighting. Because this is not only for what happened previously but also for the future of Black lives. So, this is not gonna stop until people get what they want and need.
Trump said to the state governors if the states couldn’t bring about law and order then he would with the military. However, it’s just his warning and not yet implemented. It’s not clear that it will be declared later.
Purpose of Martial Law:
If the Martial Law was really implemented, it would be like the Insurrection act 1807 which was signed by Thomas Jefferson.
It enables the president to all allow the military forces to control people and conduct curfews.
If people aren’t under control and to protect their lives, the president could allow heavily armed soldiers and military to the streets to take the situation under control.
Trump himself said these words
“If the city or state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residence, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” he said.
Those words from him made people think about the declaration of Martial law.
As of, for now, no one declared anything about it.
We will let you know the next step of Trump, as soon as he announced. Stay tuned and safe!!
